TERMS AND CONDITIONS
STUDIO INFORMATION
- Please allow ample time to arrive punctually for your appointment. If you are late, we will need to reschedule your fitting for another day, which will incur an additional fitting fee. If you arrive early, we kindly ask that you wait nearby and return at your scheduled appointment time.
- Due to limited space, we kindly request that you bring no more than two to three guests to your appointment.
- Our studio is not suitable for pets or unattended children due to the presence of delicate fabrics.
- To protect the designer's copyright, photos of the dresses are not permitted unless a dress has been purchased. Please inform your guests of this policy. Unfortunately, we have had instances where clients took photos and had the dresses replicated elsewhere. Additionally, poor lighting and angles can distort the appearance of the gown, creating a misleading impression.
Just a friendly reminder that we operate differently from a typical shop with ready-made stock. Instead of a traditional "Yes to the dress" experience, we offer private, one-on-one appointments to assist you in planning and creating your perfect dream dress.
REFUND POLICY
- Appointment fees are non-refundable once payment is received. However, you may reschedule your appointment once within the same month.
- Custom orders are final sale and cannot be rescheduled to a later date, refunded, returned, or exchanged once the order has been placed.
- For fully paid canceled hiring orders, a store voucher will be issued, valid for 3 months and subject to stock availability. Fitting fees and alterations are excluded.
- Purchases of ready-made, sale, or discounted items are final and cannot be refunded, exchanged, or returned.
This policy is in place due to costs already incurred, including time and administrative expenses, turning away other potential clients, and compensating staff for preparing items or arranging your appointment.
ESTIMATE PRICES
BRIDALUnfortunately, we are unable to provide quotes via email, as there are many factors to consider, including budget, style, fabric choice, timeline, and more.
Items labeled as "shop-soiled" are discounted due to slight soiling or minor damage, such as small marks, hooks, or imperfections from studio fittings or photo shoots.
Custom Bridal: R35 000/R45 000/R50 000 and up.
Order an existing evening gown: R10 000/ R15 000/R20 000 and up.
Buy an existing bridal gown: R15 000/R20 000/R25 000 and up.
Hire an existing bridal gown: R10 000/ R15 000/R20 000 and up
EVENING WEAR Formal Events, Matric Dance & Mother-of-bride
Custom Evening: R15 000/R20 000/ and up.
Order an existing bridal gown: R20 000/ R25 000/R30 000 and up.
Buy an existing evening gown: R6 000/R8 000/R12 000 and up.
Hire an existing evening gown: R1 500/ R2 500/R5 000 and up
ALTERATIONS
Labour charges (e.g., cutting and sewing plain hems (3 layers), adjusting straps, adding or removing cups, adding covered boning) start at R3,500 and up.
REFUNDABLE HOLDING DEPOSIT
- There might be a holding deposit payable that will be refunded should the dress be returned on time and without any damage (mostly new or bridal gowns) within two weeks after inspection.
- If the dress is returned with minor damage, we will withhold the deposit, and you might receive an invoice if the deposit doesn't cover the damage costs.
- If the dress is damaged or stained beyond repair, or stolen while in your care, you will be held liable for the full value of the dress.
- We will arrange dry-cleaning, and an additional dry-cleaning fee might be added to your quote.
ONE-OF-A-KIND
- The size you see displayed is the only size available.
- If you are unsure of the size, you are welcome to email us for the garment measurements.
- The listed prices apply to standard-sized, readymade items.
- To discuss custom, made on your measurements, kindly book a bespoke consultation.
COLLECTION AND RETURN
- After your fitting, you book the dress you love, pay the full hire fee and arrange collection/return dates.
- Dresses are usually collected the day before the event and returned the day after, but flexibility in dates is open for discussion.
At checkout, you have the option to either collect the item in person or have it couriered directly to your address.
- Courier: Upon the collection of your order by the courier service, we regretfully cannot be held responsible for any delays or potential loss of an item. You are welcome to inquire about insurance options for your parcel or arrange for your preferred courier service to collect the item.
- Collection: Please be informed that we require a minimum of 2 to 5 days' lead time before collection by you or the courier, depending on the order, to inspect and properly package your order. Kindly inform us of your preferred day and time for order collection.
CUSTOM DESIGN
Please note that we only take in a few bespoke orders per month, so do not delay in contacting us.
Book a private, one-on-one session for our Made-to-Measure/Custom Bespoke Consultation at our studio with designer Cindy Bam. During this dedicated hour, Cindy will delve into your vision for your special day. You'll have the opportunity to explore styles from our collection or co-create your dream dress, while also discussing preliminary price estimates.
Cindy will expertly assess your body shape (without focusing on your weight) and skillfully utilize design lines to craft a unique, figure-flattering gown tailored exclusively for you. Together, you'll peruse luxurious fabric and lace options. Cindy will personally drape fabric on you and provide sample/mock dresses for you to try, enabling a clearer visualization of your final look.
Additionally, Cindy will examine your mood board to better understand your identity and the message you wish your gown to convey. She'll also offer guidance to brides, providing advice on presenting the bouquet to your bridesmaids, handling the veil, posing techniques for photos, and more.
All custom estimate prices include using in-house fabrics. Specific fabrics, like silk, embroidered fabric or a specific lace design can be sourced and quoted for.
Your unique dress pattern will be drafted on your measurements, a mock will be made first to pin and adjust on your body, and you will have 5-6 fittings.
READYMADE
Please note, this is an appointment to fit existing evening gowns to buy and bridal gowns to buy and hire only. This is not a consultation to design a dress for you.
Book a private, one-on-one fitting at our studio and,
- Spend an hour fitting existing, one-of-a-kind dresses.
- You buy or hire the dress. Take her home with you or discuss collection dates.
- Alterations are not included and can be quoted for by booking an Alteration Appointment or have it done closer to home.
HIRING
Please note: This is an appointment to fit readymade evening gowns available to hire only.
- 15-30min Fitting Appointment with Andree or assistant.
- We work on a First Come, First Serve basis, seeing that our items are one-of-a-kind, there are not many options per size and style available.
- Items cannot be reserved or set aside for fittings.
- Fully paid hiring take priority over fitting appointments, which are meant for browsing what’s currently available in the studio at the time of your appointment. If you’re interested in a specific item, we recommend booking your fitting asap.
- If the dress doesn’t fit or if the one you wanted to fit is unavailable you are welcome to brows for a different option. Alternatively, we can discuss a Made-to-Hire, depending on your budget and the timeframe.
- We can quote you should the dress require alteration or remodelling.
- New garments are priced higher and will be lowered over time.
ALTERATIONS
- Due to the nature of our growing business, we are currently unable to take in alterations for garments purchased from other designers or stores. Our alteration services are exclusively available for Cindy Bam garments. We appreciate your understanding as we focus on providing the best service for the dresses we create.
- Minor alterations such as hems and strap adjustments must be booked 2 to 3 months in advance from event date. Alterations such as fit and remodeling must be booked 4 to 6 months in advance from event date. We only take in limited alteration and remodelling orders, so do not delay in contacting us.
- Alteration costs are not included in the sale or hiring prices.
- We recommend booking as early as possible seeing that we cannot guarantee production time availability.
- For the best fitting experience, kindly wear well-fitted undergarments and bring along your event shoes, allowing us to accurately mark your hems during the session.
During a dedicated 30 to 60-minute session, Cindy Bam will work closely with you, assessing the fit of your dress and exploring alteration possibilities or the potential for dress remodeling, all within your specified budget. Following this consultation, a detailed quotation will be provided, and Andree will coordinate subsequent fitting appointments upon acceptance of the quotation.
VIRTUAL
We highly recommend scheduling a Virtual Consultation with designer Cindy Bam prior to your in-person visit if:
- You reside outside of Cape Town or are unable to physically attend but seek Cindy Bam's professional advice.
- You're uncertain about initiating the dress planning process, unsure of your preferences, and require expert guidance; alternatively, you have a clear vision and seek a couture designer's assistance in materializing your ideas.
- You wish to explore specific styles, determine the most flattering options for you, or learn about various fabric choices.
- Understanding the distinctions among couture designers, dressmakers, and bridal shops offering mass-produced dresses is important to you. You may also seek insights into wedding dress costs and ways to achieve your dream dress within a specified budget.
- You've already purchased a dress elsewhere and seek advice on alterations or desire to repurpose your mother's dress for your wedding.
- You have inquiries about our services, the appropriate appointment to schedule, booking procedures, or the production timeline.
PLEASE NOTE: Throughout the consultation, Cindy will guide you in determining the most suitable service for your needs, whether it's our ready-to-wear collection or a custom design. Following this discussion, we'll schedule your subsequent appointment at our studio, offering a discounted rate from the standard appointment fee associated with each service. Once you've accepted the quotation, any fittings required (typically ranging from 1 to 3 fittings) will be seamlessly integrated into the quoted price, provided at no additional cost to you.
